Unfortunately I went through a long period where I felt like the act of drawing was only a means to an end. In 2017-18 when I lived in my studio and everything began to collapse into a life/art blur, I started craving hand-produced objects. I sat down with a pencil and began to make a continuous mark back and forth like a sewing machine. This meditative process produced shapes that resembled textile pieces. The mark-making has now grown into a collection of symbols that interact with each other and sometimes create indecipherable narratives.
